Theoretical foundation for the discrete dynamics of physicochemical systems: Chaos, self-organization, time and space in complex systems

    Get PDF
A new theoretical foundation for the discrete dynamics of physicochemical systems is presented. Based on the analogy between the π-theorem of the theory of dimensionality, the second law of thermodynamics and the stoichiometry of complex physicochemical reactions, basic dynamic equations and an extreme principle were formulated. The meaning of discrete time and space in the proposed equations is discussed. Some results of numerical calculations are presented to demonstrate the potential of the proposed approach to the mathematical simulation of spatiotemporal physicochemical reaction dynamics

Treatment of acute complicated pancreatic pseudocysts

The results of surgery in 70 patients with acute complicated pancreatic pseudocysts in age from 21 to 79 years were analyzed. For patients using an individualized medical – diagnostic campaign, which primarily was aimed at the elimination of complications following treatment with most of the pseudocyst in the long-term. In most cases, using percutaneous drainage for the purpose of the stabilization patient's general well-being, the possibility of the influence on the development the sepsis and severe organ dysfunction. If found impossible using this minimally invasive methods, and only when it is impossible to use them, or the development of complications after surgery, or results are unsatisfactory, performed "open" surgery. Mortality in complicated acute pseudocysts was 3.4 %

We studied influence of the polyfunctional food supplement "Magnetofооd" on the technological parameters of rye-wheat dough semi-finished product and the finished product. A positive effect of the supplement "Magnetofооd" on the technological parameters of dough and the bread baked using it, is shown. It was established that adding the food supplement "Magnetofооd" in the amount of 0.15 % of the weight of flour reduces dough fermentation time by 13.0 on average %. The introduction of the food supplement "Magnetofооd" also increases the yield of a dough semi-finished product by 2.9 % on average and improves the yield of the finished product by 3.45 % on average. It was revealed that the multifunctional food supplement "Magnetofооd" enhances the quality of rye-wheat dough semi-finished product and the finished product due to its capacity of moisture retention and the inhibition of hydrolysis processes of the basic ingredients of dough. The obtained experimental data could be used to develop a technology of rye-wheat bread, enriched with the polyfunctional food supplement "Magnetofооd"

Transboundary clusters in the coastal zones of the European part of Russia: inventory, typology, factors, and prospects

    Get PDF
This article presents an inventory and a typology of the existing and emerging economic clusters in the coastal zone of the European part of Russia. The authors hold that transboundary clustering takes priority in the Baltic coastal region - nine of the 56 clusters identified are located in the Kaliningrad region and another eight in Saint Petersburg and the Leningrad region. The authors describe major catalysts and immanent inhibitors in coastal zones. The former include a high density of coastal economies, proximity to international markets, and better logistics and communications. The inhibitors comprise geopolitical risks and institutional barriers. It is shown that the potential and prospects of transboundary clustering are affected by both global integration and disintegration patterns, coastal infrastructure, geopolitical and geoeconomic "neighbourhood", cultural excellence, and business and investment environment

    Reinforcement learning or active inference?

    Get PDF
This paper questions the need for reinforcement learning or control theory when optimising behaviour. We show that it is fairly simple to teach an agent complicated and adaptive behaviours using a free-energy formulation of perception. In this formulation, agents adjust their internal states and sampling of the environment to minimize their free-energy. Such agents learn causal structure in the environment and sample it in an adaptive and self-supervised fashion. This results in behavioural policies that reproduce those optimised by reinforcement learning and dynamic programming. Critically, we do not need to invoke the notion of reward, value or utility. We illustrate these points by solving a benchmark problem in dynamic programming; namely the mountain-car problem, using active perception or inference under the free-energy principle. The ensuing proof-of-concept may be important because the free-energy formulation furnishes a unified account of both action and perception and may speak to a reappraisal of the role of dopamine in the brain

Based on discrete chaotic dynamics algorithms different patterns in a form of mandalas have been generated. This fact gives us the possibility to make a link between mechanism of biochemical reaction dynamics undergoing in brain resulted to the brain creativity process in form of mandalas. Obtained patterns can be related to the space distributed chemicals according to the law of extended principle of maximum entropy, consideration of the information exchange during biochemical transformations, mass conservation law and discrete chaotic dynamics principles

The dynamics of living and thinking systems, biological networks, and the laws of physics

Discrete chaotic dynamics (DCD) of living and thinking systems are presented in a form of networks of interacting agents with the abilities of energy and information exchange. Special dynamical principles followed by the systems of basic discrete time and space difference equations are introduced. Emergent, self-organized behavior of complex living and thinking systems is presented by the different patterns generated by the DCD algorithms. Artificial life and brain systems based on DCD principles and mathematical models are proposed

The strategy of the company Knauf, producing construction materials and systems in the context of the Russian economy modernization

The article discusses the economic aspects of the KNAUF group of companies’ activities in Russia in the context of economic modernization processes. Based on theoretical approaches to the analysis of the multinational manufacturing companies’ influence on national economic processes, the contribution of the group to the modernization processes in Russia is investigated. The correlation of the strategy and organization of the KNAUF group economy in Russia (organization of production, interaction with suppliers and consumers, investment and innovation policy, environmental and social aspects) with the key vectors of economic modernization, the risks are formulated for a positive projection of the company’s activities on the modernization processes
